Lawton, OK -MacArthur High School’s (MHS) JROTC Highlander Battalion competed in the Top of Texas Drill Meet on Saturday, Oct. 7, in Wichita Falls, TX.
\r\nThe cadets competed against 12 other teams from Oklahoma and Texas. The Highlander Battalion won third place as Overall Grand Champions.
\r\nThe following MHS JROTC teams and individuals earned recognition:
\r\nThe varsity Unarmed Drill Team, commanded by Cadet CSM Anna Colburn, won first in the Regulation Phase, second in the Inspection Phase and third in the Exhibition Phase. Colburn won first place as the Unarmed Drill Team Commander.
\r\nThe junior varsity Unarmed Drill Team, commanded by Cadet Corporal Reigne Riboroso, placed fifth during the Inspection Phase and sixth in the Regulation Phase. Riboroso placed fifth as an Unarmed Drill Team Commander.
\r\nThe Armed Drill Team, commanded by Cadet SGT Dante' Aguilar, placed third in both the Regulation and Inspection phases.
\r\nThe Female Color Guard, commanded by Cadet LTC Laeyyah Ginn, placed second during the Performance Phase.
\r\nThe Male Physical Fitness Team won 3rd place in Pull Ups, and the Female Physical Fitness Team placed second in the Long Jump and third in the 300 meter Shuttle Run.
