Letter from Hime

Dear MacArthur High School Parents:

I am writing to share information about an incident that occurred on the MHS campus yesterday.

Around 2:45 pm, Lawton Public Schools Police Department officials arrested a school support employee for Possession of CDS within 1000’ of a school. Students did not witness the arrest, and it did not cause a disruption to the school day.

The employee involved has resigned and will not be working at the school. Because this is a personnel matter, I am unable to share additional information at this time.

There is nothing more important to Lawton Public Schools than the safety and wellbeing of our students. We are committed to providing them with a positive learning environment each and every day.

It is never easy to share concerning news about school issues; however, I want you to know we will always communicate openly and transparently with our school family. When we work together, we can ensure we provide the best and safest educational experience for all students.

Thank you for your support of Lawton Public Schools.

Kevin Hime,
LPS Superintendent
